Keeps your beans fresh on the counter. The wood lid closes the jar airtight, so air and moisture stay away from your coffee between brews and it doesn't go stale as fast as it would in the bag.
The jar is borosilicate glass, the same heat-resistant glass used in good kitchenware and pour-over carafes, and the wide round mouth makes it easy to scoop from and easy to clean. It holds 700 ml (about 24 oz), which is a little over half a pound of whole beans.
Keep it out of direct sunlight, since light breaks coffee down over time too.
